Mattie brines
So, I brined the turkey tonight -- found a recipe online for salt, sugar, soy sauce, and whatever else you wanted to add. To be sure, my turkey was supposedly pre-brined, but I figured why not, and there I went...it was pretty thawed, and I think the rest will do the trick. Tomorrow will be the day I cook it -- I figure I can start it while working, as all I need to do is turn on the over, get it hot, and put the bird in for a few hours. Then, turkey heaven.
Watched episode one of Ken Burns' "American Revolution" tonight. I don't know; I think it was a bit too woke in that they were ascertaining everything to the rapacity of settlers, but not too much -- I think it wasn't so much greed, of course, but that people wanted their own freeholds, and a lot of the good land was taken by planters and magnates, so...he did a good job of explaining that many colonists felt they had done quite well on their own during the French and Indian War and that also affected how people felt about this. I will definitely try to watch tomorrow; I mean, if it don't like it I can stop, but so far it is... ok enough?
I forgot to take a picture at the OC and in result my streak of content is in danger... I don't have to do it every week, but... now I feel I sort of have to. And I should, to set an example, etc... rah.
I just realized I have two piles of crap in the living room, and I should probably fix them and get rid of them; not that I am expecting company, but... I have been thinking about purging stuff, and maybe after work and when the turkey is setting, I can do so... I am not quite at the age where you want less stuff, but sadly... that day is sooner than I think!
