Mattie Vents

Is it me, or did people not think through what a national fight about redistricting would entail?  I mean, right now it seems a wash; red states went there, and so did the blue ones, and in an average year, it would break even.  But now we have a looming blue wave, and....the idea seems less good.  To be sure, I didn't like it even if it was a red year, but... there may be a few extra seats the GOP could round up, but at the end of the day, it seems we created a hot meh that achieved very little.

Battleground Republicans are starting to worry about the Senate - POLITICO
This could be me, but we as the GOP should be smarter about this?  It shouldn't be that hard to clear a field to get the candidates we want (and need).  It shouldn't be that hard for Jon Husted or any GOP candidate to have all the cash they need.  It shouldn't be that hard for the GOP to get people lined up properly, and yet we do it every time.  I find this fascinating and appalling.  It's not like this is 1856 and we are a new party...

Again, if this has been going on for such a long time, it should not have taken so long for all of this to get out, and the GOP -- for many reasons -- should be off and hanging all of those involved out to dry about this.  Of course, we will not, but it is very troubling that we don't.  And then we wonder why we lose elections.
