Here we are, a nice evening...maybe at home, maybe not.  Not sure yet.  I guess this is good... anyways, last night I went to St. Mary's Romanian fest at their cathedral...had not been in a few years.  It was ok.  I thought it was better a few years ago when I went... mind you, it was fine -- $24 for chicken paprikash, pork loin, and rice pudding, which was the least good -- not very wet, and I think I prefer mine a bit more runny, if you will.  Lots of interesting bakery, but I was headed off to a friend's house for a fest, so I didn't partake.  Fest was fine, save for the lack of parking and the hauling ass through interesting parts of town.  I know I am a child of the suburbs, but...

Food pantry today and it was largely smooth... count a bit low, which I again attributed to the Big, Beautiful Bill, but we do have a summer lull, and I suspect in October it will be back to normal.  All the produce is gone, as is much of the meat (sort of a problem).  We did clean and wipe down all the surfaces, moved some crap... closed for Labor Day in two weeks so next week the other manager and I were planning on getting rid of everything.  

More layoffs at work -- not my department, or me, but it was still a bit sad -- some good people were let go.  My wrath at the Fed is unchecked.  One of my team members left for another opportunity, which is good for him, sad for us, as he is a cool guy and knew his stuff.... funny, I wanted to catch up on some work, but had so much other stuff to do today, which I got through most, so.... tomorrow.
