I find these things amusing, if only because....well, you wanted Obamacare, you got Obamacare. So, stupid, deal with it. Of course, that is not how things will end up, not that anyone will be surprised; I mean, PA is the last state where the unions will be told to pound salt.
I guess the last start by Masterson can be considered a success, in that he didn't suffer yet another catastrophe. The DL wheel continues, as do the defensive struggles...one you cannot control, and the other...well, next year, with Lindor around and maybe a new 1B, things could change, but one doubts it. The other issue is that with the defense, there is a lack of strikeout pitchers -- aside from Kluber -- at any level of the organization. To be sure, stuff is something you either have or do not, but, the front office doesn't seem to have "it" when drafting pitchers...and that is a concern.
I realize the chance of this is nil, but I still wonder if somehow, somewhere, the Mississippi scandal was something cooked up by Cochran or his supporters to put the thing away; I mean, it just seems so pointless to the challenger to point out -- wife in nursing home -- that it would be the third rail...unless, of course, someone was made to poke it. With Haley Barbour and ilk on the ground, I don't think you can rule it out completely....
