thoughts

Once a week blogging, better than the alternative... ok, I have been sort of intermittently background watching the Dem debate, and... as I say at the office, the clown car worked out so well for the GOP, I can see why the Dems want to go bigger.

Also, whether or not the Tribe trades Trevor Bauer next week or after the season...well, I would expect a lot more 127-pitch starts.  Honestly, I don't see why more pitchers can't throw more... he has the conditioning and the pitch mix, so why not other guys?  I find this...odd.

I get a kick out of these articles, mainly because... well, you really can't go far before tripping over some Democrat with a history of these things.  If the GOP had any brains -- I know, I know -- you'd think they would go around asking Dems about this now, and then start the old damnatio memoriae that seems to be popular.  Hell, Nancy Pelosi's father pulled shit like this when he was mayor of Baltimore...  ahem.

I feel for this, on a lot of reasons, but... 1) NOT Taking insulin is pretty dumb and 2) I wonder what would happen if someone, say, a state, decided to go out and fund/start their own insulin production facility; not saying that NEOH wouldn't be ideal for this sort of thing, of course, but...  I wonder if they (the producers) would stand down, given the risk of discovery... just going and producing basic insulin, I think, would be a huge help...

Bemusement

Well, that was...exciting?  Power by the Tribe, a comeback, and an interesting play by Naquin.... I mean, the TV guys had a point; I am not sure even Tyler knew what he was doing out there, but...   it is funny, because he is challenged, to put it mildly, in CF, and in RF...  I did like Mercado in CF, and I wonder if the contretemps with Lindor -- to say nothing of the suckitude -- has put him to the bench.  At the very least, Mercado is hitting and he can probably play in CF, in which case.... exeunt Martin.

Um...no?  I mean, if the left has made it their business to go and start knocking down people because of their misdeeds, especially #MeToo related...that's fine, but then you can't go and say "well, this person is excluded."  I think we all know MLK was sort of a cad, to put it mildly, but if he actually did worse... well, someone is going to have to start asking tough questions.

I think I, like a lot of conservatives, have been getting a kick out of the Oberlin contretemps, and with good reason... but one thing seems to stand out, for me...why on Earth anyone nowadays puts anything remotely inflammatory on an email... Jesus, hasn't anyone heard of discovery?  I would think about now people would learn only to put platitudes, and inoffensive ones at that, in anything nowadays...

Reporting for duty

Blogging tonight...not that I have time for it, but, well, I sort of do... anyways, I was thinking that, for all of my problems, they are mainly of the First World variety, and not that they aren't a pain...but oh well.  Anyways, they might be able to be fixed, or at least handled, and that is something.  Alas.

As was this:

I told my coworkers (of course) it would have been far cooler if Frankie had went Captain Baseball, Jonathan Papelbon-style, on him... this could be me, but Martin -- God bless him for coming back -- has really stunk this year, and picking a fight with Lindor is... not wise?  It is a little odd, as Francona tends to make a dugout a happy place to be...

This could be me, but... I would think that at the end of the day, if enough parents made a stink, some school district would have to fold and move the day back... I mean, really... you could add an extra reces or study hall, and teachers could certainly have "extra" periods built into their schedule to grade papers and such...

Yes/no/maybe?  I mean, I like Russ, but sometimes I think he is writing to appease some shrinking share of the NYT readership that might be receptive to his views, rather than articulating conservative policy...not all of the time, to be sure, but enough of it...

The record

So, this IS a record for not blogging...I think the usual reasons apply; I've been busy, good and bad, and have been tired.  I've been reading more in my spare time, which is good; just that I have less of it. Maybe this is not a surprise...  In other news, I think I am coming down with a cold, as well....

In the meantime, I've had PQ (third), a birthday -- lunch at Ninja City -- and in general, the usual...work and meetings and whatnot.  Summer is here, though it hardly seems it.  I think I need new tires for the truck; that and some other repairs and other issues...I mean, I can afford it, just that we all know how I love spending money, and I think I had wanted to allocate it elsewhere...  Also, I hit the Tribe game Tuesday, always nice to see a walk off!!

I dummied into this a while back and it is fascinating to me...being me, I am going to watch them all!  As you can imagine, this is something of a...well, not quite time suck, but...let's just say I have a fondness for large and impossibly complex projects.

I always say that while i have no problem with the idea of universal health care, but the problem is who pays for it...and I think the argument could be made that if people aren't going to pay for their own health care... well, do you think I should pay for this?
